1. Program Overview
The PGD / M.Tech in Electric Vehicle Technology is a joint university program by Ajeenkya DY Patil University (ADYPU), Pune — established under Maharashtra Govt. Act of 2015 and ranked 3rd among Top Emerging Engineering Institutes (Times Engineering Survey 2020) — and DIYguru eMobility Academy, India's leading NEAT AICTE-accredited hardware-enabled upskilling platform in Future Mobility & Transportation. DIYguru serves as the implementation partner for ADYPU's M.Tech programs, curating specialised content, providing industry insights, and facilitating hands-on experiences at established Centre of Excellence (COE) labs.
The program's defining USP is its flexible dual-exit pathway: complete 2 semesters (40 credits, 12 months) to earn a PG Diploma in EV Technology, or continue for 4 semesters (80 credits, 2 years) to earn a full M.Tech Degree in EV Technology from ADYPU. Credits earned during the PG Diploma are fully transferable — students who complete the PG Diploma can upgrade to the M.Tech by completing only the remaining semesters including the M.Tech project thesis (12 credits). This makes it one of the only EV programs in India where you can earn a recognised university credential in just 12 months while retaining the option to pursue a full master's degree.
India's EV market is experiencing explosive growth. Total EV sales in India crossed 2.3 million units in 2025, accounting for 8% of all new vehicle registrations (Vahan Portal / IESA, 2026). Electric passenger vehicle sales surged 77% YoY to a record 1.76 lakh units in CY2025 (Autocar India, Jan 2026). The India EV market was valued at USD 18.79 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 1,053 billion by 2034 at a 57.3% CAGR (Precedence Research, 2025). The government targets 30% EV penetration by 2030 — approximately 80 million EVs on Indian roads — while the EV ecosystem raised over $1.4 billion in funding in 2025 alone (IESA). With the EV ecosystem projected to create 50 million jobs across the value chain by 2030, a university-level M.Tech specialisation in EV Technology is one of the highest-ROI career investments available today.
At just ₹50,000 per semester (₹1,00,000 for PGD, ₹2,00,000 for M.Tech), this is India's most affordable EV M.Tech program — making a university-level EV specialisation accessible to working professionals, fresh graduates, and entrepreneurs without the financial burden of traditional postgraduate engineering programs.

11. Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Who is this program designed for?
The PGD / M.Tech in EV Technology is designed for B.Tech. and M.Sc. graduates from any engineering or science discipline. It serves three primary audiences: (1) Fresh graduates aspiring to specialise in EV engineering from the start; (2) Working professionals at all engineering levels in automotive ICE & EV companies seeking formal postgraduate specialisation; and (3) Entrepreneurs & startup founders who want deep technical knowledge to lead eMobility ventures. The hybrid format with 20 hrs/week commitment is specifically designed so working professionals can earn a university degree without pausing their careers.
Q2. What makes this India's most affordable EV M.Tech?
The program fee is ₹50,000 per semester — that's ₹1,00,000 for the PG Diploma (1 year) and ₹2,00,000 for the full M.Tech Degree (2 years). Comparable M.Tech programs at private universities cost ₹5–15 lakh, making this program 5–7x more affordable while delivering 1200+ hours of learning, on-site COE lab access, supervisor-led research projects, and triple certification (ADYPU + ASDC + DIYguru).
Q3. How does the PG Diploma to M.Tech credit transfer work?
ADYPU offers seamless credit transfer. After completing 2 semesters and earning 40 credits, you receive a PG Diploma in EV Technology. If you decide to pursue the full M.Tech, all 40 credits transfer — you simply continue with Semester 3 and 4 (including the M.Tech project thesis at 12 credits) to complete the remaining 40 credits for a total of 80 credits. There's no duplication, no re-examination, and no additional cost beyond the standard semester fee.
Q4. What is the learning format?
The program follows a hybrid model combining three learning modes: (1) Live SmartRoom Classes — 500+ hours of live online coursework sessions with interactive lectures, quizzes, and assignments; (2) On-Site Research Labs — hands-on lab work at established COE centres in Delhi, Pune, or Bangalore across 8 specialised domains; (3) Self-Paced Courses — recorded modules accessible 24/7 with lifetime access. Additionally, you receive supervisor-led mentorship for major projects and 24×7 support via WhatsApp groups and Discord channels. The 20 hrs/week commitment is designed for working professionals.
Q5. What certifications will I receive?
Graduates receive triple certification: (1) ADYPU University Degree — PG Diploma or M.Tech in EV Technology from Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Pune; (2) ASDC Certification — from the Automotive Skills Development Council (under NSDC, Ministry of Skill Development); (3) DIYguru eMobility Academy Certification — professional certification from India's leading eMobility platform. The program is accredited by NEAT AICTE (Ministry of Education, Government of India).
Q6. Is there placement support?
Yes. DIYguru provides dedicated career support through its 300+ industry partner network. This includes curated job boards, personalised career coaching, mock interviews, research collaboration opportunities, leadership development workshops, and entrepreneurial support. Alumni are working at Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Bosch, Ather Energy, Ola Electric, Infineon, Tork Motors, and many more. Placement support is subject to meeting internal evaluation criteria.
Q7. How is this different from DIYguru's Nanodegree or Professional Certification programs?
This is a university degree program — fundamentally different from DIYguru's standalone certifications. The Professional Certification (3 months, ₹18,000) provides a foundational entry into EV concepts. The Nanodegree programs (6 months) offer IIT Jammu collaboration with live classes and campus immersion. This PGD / M.Tech program offers a recognised university degree from ADYPU with 1200+ hours of learning, on-site COE labs, research projects, and thesis work — it's the deepest and most comprehensive EV specialisation in DIYguru's portfolio, ideal for those seeking a formal postgraduate qualification.
Q8. Can I study from outside Pune?
Yes. The 500+ hours of live classes are conducted online via SmartRoom. Self-paced recorded modules are accessible from anywhere with lifetime access. Only the on-site COE research lab sessions require physical presence, and these are available at multiple locations — Delhi NCR, Pune (ADYPU campus + Hinjewadi), and Bangalore. You can choose the COE location most convenient for you.
