1. Program Overview
The Nanodegree in Advanced Modeling, ADAS & AUTOSAR for Automotive & EV Systems is a 6-month, career-focused program designed to prepare engineers for the future of intelligent mobility and autonomous systems. Developed in collaboration with i3C, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu, this program provides end-to-end training in ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and AUTOSAR (Automotive Open System Architecture) — with a strong foundation in modeling, simulation, and embedded software development for electric vehicles.
The ADAS and automotive software industry is experiencing explosive growth. India's ADAS market is valued at USD 1.36 billion in 2026 and is projected to reach USD 3.12 billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 18.12% (Source: Mordor Intelligence, 2026). ADAS penetration in Indian passenger vehicles reached 8.3% in H1 2025 — a 33% increase Year-on-Year — with electric vehicles leading at 36.4% ADAS adoption compared to the overall average (Source: JATO, 2025). The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has proposed mandatory AEBS (Autonomous Emergency Braking), DDAWS (Driver Drowsiness Alert), and LDWS (Lane Departure Warning) for vehicles carrying more than eight passengers from April 2026, converting ADAS from a premium differentiator into a regulatory requirement.
Globally, the ADAS market is projected to grow from USD 65 billion in 2024 to over USD 217 billion by 2034. AUTOSAR adoption is now mandatory in most Tier-1 OEM software stacks worldwide. This program equips engineers with the precise skills — sensor fusion, AUTOSAR stack configuration, ADAS algorithm development, ISO 26262 functional safety, and HIL/SIL validation — that are in the highest demand across automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and EV companies.

Both tracks include the same curriculum, training hours, projects, and placement support. EMI options and scholarships are available — contact the admissions team for details.
Q3. What certifications will I receive?
All graduates receive NEAT AICTE (Ministry of Education, Government of India) and ASDC (Automotive Skills Development Council) certifications. Candidates on the Enhanced Track additionally receive the i3C IIT Jammu certificate. These certifications are recognized by automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and EV companies across India and globally.
Q4. Can working professionals pursue this alongside their current jobs?
Yes. Live sessions are scheduled on weekends and evenings. Self-paced recorded content is accessible 24/7 with lifetime access. Students should budget approximately 8–10 hours per week. The IIT Jammu campus immersion (Enhanced Track) requires 3 days of leave, communicated well in advance.
Q5. What is the difference between AUTOSAR Classic and AUTOSAR Adaptive?
AUTOSAR Classic is the established standard for deeply embedded ECUs with real-time constraints (e.g., engine control, BMS). It uses a layered architecture with BSW, RTE, and SWC. AUTOSAR Adaptive is the newer platform designed for high-performance computing domains like ADAS, autonomous driving, and infotainment. It supports microservices, POSIX-based OS, and Ethernet/IP communication. This program covers both platforms comprehensively.
Q6. Do I need prior experience in ADAS or AUTOSAR to join?
No. The program is structured to accommodate beginners, starting with EV fundamentals and progressing to advanced ADAS and AUTOSAR development. However, candidates with some background in embedded systems, C/C++, or MATLAB will find it easier to progress through the advanced modules. The program is equally suitable for fresh graduates and experienced professionals transitioning into ADAS/AUTOSAR roles.
Q7. What makes ADAS & AUTOSAR skills critical in 2026?
India's Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has proposed mandatory AEBS, DDAWS, and LDWS for vehicles carrying 8+ passengers from April 2026. ADAS penetration in Indian vehicles grew 33% YoY to 8.3% in H1 2025, with EVs at 36.4%. AUTOSAR adoption is now mandatory in most global OEM software stacks. The convergence of electrification and autonomous driving is creating the highest-paid engineering roles in the automotive sector, with demand far outstripping supply.
Q8. What projects will I work on?
You will complete 6+ research projects and 1 supervisor-led capstone project. Example projects include: sensor fusion pipeline for object detection (RADAR + Camera), lane departure warning system simulation in MATLAB/Simulink, AUTOSAR BSW configuration for EV ECU, autonomous emergency braking (AEB) algorithm development, adaptive cruise control implementation, and end-to-end ADAS perception pipeline using Python/OpenCV. The capstone project is showcased to hiring partners.
